On this site you can read about the history of
this beautiful Bodley church, form an impression of its quality
from many photographs, see listings of Services and events, and
hear some sound files.
Holy Trinity is just to the SW of the Royal Albert Hall. Sunday morning Services continue during the present interregnum, and we remain a BCP
(Book of Common Prayer) church. Visitors often enjoy coming to
the extremely convivial sit-down lunches, on the 2nd Sunday of each
month. Others prefer to find a corner of this spacious building
for some quiet contemplation, and many visit fleetingly when it is
open during the week.
This tall, calm and numinous space full of
light is a place to collect thoughts, encounter God, or just to enjoy the
splendid architecture, during mid-week opening, at evening concerts, or at the Sunday morning & evening services.
There is fine music here, with good singers on Sundays, two
beautiful organs, and
regular concerts listed at 'Events' on this site. Hundreds of people visit the building during 'Open House
weekend' in September.
In November 2007 we celebrated the centenary of the architect George F Bodley, whose last completed church commission this was. The
church is regarded as the apogee of his late, ultra-refined
style.
Weekday opening: The church is open every day, in
recent weeks 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or later. This is subject to the
work demands of our people who are able to attend the building.
Particular
opening times - morning & evening - are easily arranged.
